OUR HISTORY AS BENEDICT PODIATRY GROUP
Effective November 1, 2016 Dr. Rodney Scott assumed ownership of Dr. James Benedict’s podiatry practice. Dr. James Benedict had a long history of providing excellent patient care in and around Kent, Ohio. Dr Benedict joined his father, Dr. Edward J. Benedict (retired), in 1984 and had been in practice for 32 years.
Dr. Edward Benedict started his podiatry practice in 1955 after graduating from the Ohio College of Chiropody in 1953. He retired in 2001 and now lives in Summerfield, Florida with his wife Ethel.
Dr. James Benedict attended Kent State University and graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and did his residency at the Youngstown Foot Clinic before joining his father. He is Board Certified in foot surgery and was on staff at University Hospital Portage Medical Center and SurgCenter Hudson.
Dr. James Benedict has moved to Dallas, Texas with his wife Judy to be near their grandchildren. Dr. Benedict is a 30 year member of the Kent Lions Club, has served as Treasurer of the Club and has served on their Board of Directors for many years. He is a Melvin E. Jones fellow, the highest honor bestowed upon a Lion. He has been a top seller of Carnations for the Club’s annual Carnation sale.
Dr. Rodney Scott graduated from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2013 and completed his podiatric surgical residency from Alliance Hospital in 2016.
